Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how IT Creative Solutions ("iKumeed", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use ikumeed.com, our mobile applications, and related services (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and our Cookies Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account and contact information: name, email address, phone number, password, and profile photo.
Profile and demographic information: date of birth, blood type, address, city, state, country, and postal code.
Donation-related information: last donation date, total donations, and, where you choose to provide it, self-reported health details such as blood pressure and haemoglobin level, used to help assess donation readiness.
Identity verification information: where you choose to complete identity verification, we collect a photo of a government-issued identity document (such as Aadhaar), a live photo taken through the app or uploaded by you, and the status of your verification. This information is collected only with your consent, is used solely to verify your identity and build trust between donors and recipients, and is handled with additional safeguards described in Section 9 below.
Location information: your city/area and, if you enable it, precise latitude/longitude and a notification radius, used to match you with nearby donors or requests.
Communications: messages you exchange with other users through the Platform, and, where you use it, WhatsApp-based communication linked to your account.
Usage and device information: log data, device identifiers, and app interaction data collected automatically, and cookies as described in our Cookies Policy.
We do not collect any payment, card, or bank account information, as iKumeed does not process monetary donations or payments of any kind (see our Terms of Service, Section 9).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: create and manage your account; match donors with blood requests based on blood type, location, and availability; send you notifications about nearby or matching requests; enable messaging between donors and recipients; verify identity and maintain trust and safety on the Platform; operate our badge and recognition features; respond to support requests; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Your Consent and Choices
Certain information — including health details, precise location, and identity verification documents — is collected only where you actively choose to provide it, and you can decline to provide it, though this may limit your ability to use certain features (for example, you cannot respond to blood requests as an unverified donor, or receive proximity-based alerts without sharing location). You can update or delete your profile information, adjust your notification radius, and manage phone-number visibility to other users, at any time from your account settings.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
With another user, when a match occurs (for example, sharing a donor's contact details with a requester, or vice versa) — subject to your visibility and phone-sharing settings;
With partner hospitals and blood banks, where relevant to coordinating a donation or verifying a request;
With service providers who help us operate the Platform (for example, hosting, messaging, and notification infrastructure), under obligations to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us;
Where required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of iKumeed, our users, or the public; and
In aggregated or de-identified form, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you, for statistics, research, or platform improvement.
6. Data Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information, including authenticated, token-based sessions, access controls, and encryption in transit. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored on the Platform.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and meet legal and regulatory requirements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain it for longer (for example, records related to a trust and safety investigation).
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request erasure of your data, and withdraw consent you previously gave for a particular use of your data (without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal). You can exercise most of these rights directly from your account settings, or by contacting us at [privacy/support email].
9. Identity Verification Documents
Identity verification (including any government ID image and live photo) is collected strictly on a voluntary basis to help establish trust between donors and requesters, is stored securely, is accessible only to authorised personnel and systems involved in verification, and is not shared with other users — only your verification status (verified/unverified) is visible to others. We retain this information only for as long as necessary for verification and trust and safety purposes, and in accordance with applicable law.
10. Health-Related Information
Any health-related details you choose to share (such as blood pressure or haemoglobin readings, or notes about donation eligibility) are provided voluntarily by you to assist with donation coordination. This information is not a substitute for, and does not replace, the medical screening performed by qualified healthcare professionals at the blood bank or hospital where you donate. We treat this information with additional care as sensitive personal data and limit its use to the purposes described in this policy.
11. Location Information
If you enable location sharing, we use your location to match you with nearby requests within your chosen notification radius. You can disable precise location sharing at any time in your device or account settings, though this may reduce the relevance of matches and alerts you receive.
12. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18 years of age. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete it.
13. Third-Party Links and Partners
The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party services (such as hospitals, blood banks, or messaging providers). This Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will indicate the date this policy was last updated, and where changes are material, we will notify you through the Platform or by email.
